With the continuous development of GIS technology, its application in various fields are becoming extensive and deep, but some specific problems are rising, which requires not only the basic theory study ,but also more concentration should be paid to the specific application areas, Then, the corresponding specific application GIS software, this put forward a higher claim to GIS speciality.Tarim oil and gas pipe lines, Acting as principal means in National West-to-East natural gas transmission, it's paving and maintenance situation have play an important role in national economic development. By investigation and survey at most pipe line scenes, the author has better understanded on the whole instance. On this basis, aim at its characteristic of both graphic data and attributive data, the author organically combine all kinds of graphic data and attributive data, besides, aim at particularities of pipe lines, bring forward recommending solutions about oil and gas pipe lines management information system based on ArcEngine, develop oil and gas pipe lines management information system based on ArcEngine and ComGIS technique,ArcSDE technique,relational database technique and C# programming language.Main contents of the study in the thesis are as follows:1. Based on characteristic of Tarim oil and gas pipe lines, several key techniques are introduced about it, for example: ArcSDE technology,ArcEngine technology,ComGIS technology.2. Based on the particularity of oil and gas pipe lines, Studying the classical arithmetic of Douglas-Poiker arithmetic about vector curve, and come true on pipe line compression analysis; and study pipeline data coordinate conversion from WGS-84 to BJ54, conquer foundation for curve compression.3. Using the Linear Reference System, set up linear reference net on the basis of mileage relation between pipe lines and highways, when some problems need urgently deal with the pipe lines, we can immediately make certain destination and the shortest route, it make the staff can arrive to the destination maximum speed, gain time for trouble removal, increase the efficiency.4. Studying and analyzing the data structure of oil and gas pipe lines, organizing pipe line data by the utilization of network model of ArcGIS Geodatabase and storing the graphic and attribute information as a whole.5. Began study surrounding ComGIS integrated technology, important research the integrated development method with ArcEngine and Visual C#, include query the pipe lines information,searches,display,spatial analysis and export function.
