Analysis On The International Competitiveness Of Transport Services Trade Of China

Since the adoption of reform and opening up,espeecially since the accesstion to the World Trade Organization, the transport services trade of China achieved rapid development. In 1997, China transportation services value for import and export trade was 12.899 billion dollars,which value has been added up to 88.746 billion dollars in 2008,and the annual growth rate was 19.16%. But according to the international balance of payment in statistical data for China,which show that China transportation services had always been in the trade deficit during the period from 1997 to 2008,which value was 6.99 billion dollars in 1997 but was 11.911 billion dollars in 2008.It meant that the rapid development of transport services in China was big in scale,and the continuous deficit infered that the development for transport services trade of China had been developping quickly but not strongly,which also infered that was lack of competitive advantage.All that mentioned above will affect the development for foreign trade of China.It is well known that the International trade is mainly embodied in two aspects which contains goods and services. But according to the international balance of payment in statistical data for China,which also show that there existed the same phenomenon in China's services trade to China's transport services trade.Although services trade get a rapid development along with the development of trade in goods, the fact of long-term trade deficit can't be changed.While China's transportation services trade in the proportion of China's services trade is increasing.As a result of that, the development situation of transportation services trade will relates the development of China's services trade,and even the whole China's foreign trade.So in order to reduce the disparity from service trade to trade in goods and make China to become the trade powerful nation ,We have to improve the competitiveness of our transport services trade. This is also precisely the thesis selected topic based on.As for structure content of this thesis,which can be arranged as follows.firstly,It elaborates the related research about the competitiveness for transport services trade home and abroad,also including the related definition of the competitiveness for transport services trade.secondly, It elaborates the related basic theory of transport services trade. Thirdly, It analyzes the transport services trade by using RCA,NRCA,CA,TC and MOR index comprehensively on the basis of quantitative analysis,by which also using Various factors relation to the transport services trade.Finally,It puts forward some useful countermeasures and suggestions on how to improve the competitiveness for transport services trade.
