With the development of 30 years, Chinese small and medium sized private enterprises has made brilliant achievements and has been more and more important in Chinese national economy, they has become an important driving force Chinese economic development. However, in the process of development, they took the extensive low-cost competitive strategy for their long-term development to leave "hidden problems" behind. As the built up of "two-oriented society" strategic concept and the out broke of global financial turmoil in 2008,there have been tremendous changes in survive and business environment of Chinese small and medium sized private enterprises, extensive low-cost competitive strategy has been non-adaptive.Firstly, the paper analyzes the status quo of the competitive strategies of small and medium private enterprises. Because of not only the internal causes such as low technology and management,but also the external causes such as priorities of Chinese economic growth strategy and the faultiness of legal system, Chinese small and medium sized private enterprises have adopted the extensive low-cost competitive strategy of the waste of resources and the expense of the environment for a long-term, although many of them seized the market by virtue of the competitive strategy of low prices. There was "high input,low output",the economic efficiency of enterprises was not high, and the benefits of environmental and social were lower.Subsequently, the paper analyzes the changes of business environment under the "two-oriented society" construction, put forward new thinking of small and medium sized private enterprises strategies-direct and indirect competition strategy. Under the conditions of construct "two-oriented society",various factors require the implementation of a low-cost + differentiation direct competition strategies, and it has real possibility. And indirect competitive strategy such as society of competitive strategy, public relations image of strategy,corporate culture strategy,scientific management strategy, talent strategy and diversification of financing strategies, optimize enterprise resource comprehensively, support the direct competitive strategy and enhance the competitiveness of the small and medium sized private enterprises currently.Finally, this paper make a medium sized express enterprise as study case, point out corresponding direct and indirect competitive strategy to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises on the base of analyzing the inadequate competitive strategy of the enterprise.
