The overlapping problem of curriculum content exists in higher education of China for years. The perfect and reasonable course settings determine not only the teaching content and the students'knowledge structure, but also the quality of talents training. This paper aims to survey the real situation of overlapping question. Through the statistical analysis, the paper lays the foundation for curriculum reform and optimization of system.This paper adopts content analysis method, selecting 20 representative courses as samples which make reference to teaching materials and students'notes. The framework of this article as follows:Chapter 1: the introduction, including the background ,the significance,the main issues, the literature review and the paper frame.Chapter 2: research design, including the collection and handling processes of research materials. First, the research materials are selected according to the research frame, and then select the college, curriculum and teaching material of sample. Second, the processing of research material is divided to three steps: first step, based on the dual connotation of tourism and management, the sample courses are divided into two parts; Second step, describing the curriculum; Third step: compiling the statistics of overlapping problem.Chapter 3 and 4: research conclusion, it is also the core of the research. Chapter 3 refers to the overlapping problem of tourism course; Tourism course divides the overlapping contents into the tourism principle and tourist psychology. There were 17 overlapping points, which repeated 78 times in total, the highest for 8 times, the average overlapping frequency is 4.59 times. Chapter 4 refers to the overlapping problem of management course. Management course divides the overlapping contents into hotel principle, human resources management, marketing, financial management and economics. There were 30 overlapping points, which repeated 109 times in total, the highest for 6 times, the average overlapping frequency is 4.59 times.Chapter 5: reason analysis and suggestion, this chapter analysis the reason of overlapping problem from curriculum aspect, discipline aspect and operate aspect. Taking several suggestions that based on the research conclusion.Chapter 6: the conclusion, with regard to the major opinions, the innovations and the deficiencies.
