Research On The Evolvement Of Urban Spatial Pattern And The Optimization Study Of Tourist Development Of Chengdu

Urban Spatial Pattern refers to the expressive synthesis constituted of various exterior materials in a city, such as spatial form, style, layout, etc. It is furthermore the projection of materialization in political, economical, social and cultural activities in given regions during the process of historical development, the synthetical reflection of various activites and natural factors produced by cities, representing cities'distinct characteristics and cultural spirits.From 311 B.C., the year when Chengdu was built, till now, the center of this city has not been transferred, and the core area has been taking the function as a backbone. In terms of the general spatial connotation, the areas surrounding the center of the city are roughly corresponding with history, and its stability and uniqueness of urban spatial pattern, which establishes profound basis for tourist development, seldom appears in the history of Chinese cities and even in the history of cities in the world.The first part of this paper defines the concept, range and content of urban spatial pattern, analyses the development of three aspects—urban spatial pattern, the relationship between urban spatial pattern and tourist development, the relationship between urban spatial pattern of Chengdu and tourist development, which are studied by academy home and abroad. It begins with the structure of Chengdu city through all the ages, and from the brilliant aspects on economy and culture in specific periods in the history, it conceives an approach to the image of the culture of the city.The second part probes into the macroscopical structure of the formation of urban spatial pattern in Chengdu. From the angles of river, lake, natural mountain, etc., it analyzes the natural geographical factors which influence the development of urban spatial pattern, and emphasizes the stability of Chengdu Plain on geological formation. From the migration of sites in Chengdu Plain before Qin Dynasty, including Baodun Site, Zizhu Site, Mangcheng Site, Gucheng Site, Shuanghe Site, Yufu Villege Site, Sanxingdui Site, Shi'erqiao Site, Jinsha Site, etc., it elucidates the development and transition of this city which were at the time before Chengdu city took shape.The third part, through the way of combining the brilliant aspects in the history with tourism, induces and analyzes the typical urban sights through all the ages in Chengdu city; illuminates systematically the evolvement and causes of urban spatial patterns in different periods. With the help of restoration of this city at the same place and contrast of related aspects in different periods, it induces the formation of urban factors influenced by different kinds of urban spatial patterns, and provides the optimization study of tourist development of Chengdu with abundant analyses and evidences.The fourth part, from the aspect of tourist development emphatically, analyzes the present situation of urban tourist development of Chengdu. Through investigation and analysis of tourist spots, tourist transportation, accommodation in hotels, travel agency, tourist souvenir, cultural entertainment, etc., combining with the general layout of urban tourist in Chengdu, it brings forward the problems lying in manifestation of the image of the culture, tourist building, tourist establishment, etc.The fifth part is about the optimization study of tourist development from the aspect of urban spatial pattern in Chengdu. It explores the optimization strategies of different spaces combining with author's investigations on the spot and demonstrations from five aspects—"terrain","river","street","scenic spot","building", in order to give practical suggestions for optimization of urban tourism in Chengdu from various angles.At last, the author puts forward a suggestion that, in virtue of the tourist development within the sight of urban spatial pattern, tourist can read the city, experience the city, and even engage into the life in the city during the travel, which is based on not only the turnaround of the present tourist ways, but also the thought of tourist development of cities in the future.
