This essay is about the middle management development in G Commercial Bank.The middle-level managers,the backbone of the bank,take the responsibility of ensuring that every policy made by the high-level management could be implemented appropriately and efficiently. They are also the undertaker of the specific targets of both management and operation. Therefore,a group of high-quality middle-level managers with great flexibility and adaptability are necessary for the sustainable development of a commercial bank.That is why it becomes so important and essential to develop the middle management in commercial bank.Unfortunately, it was found from the real management of Chinese commercial bank that not enough emphases were put on or no systemic plan were made for the middle-level managers.So it is significantly important to study the development of the middle management in commercial bank.On the basis of the previous research,this essay has analyzed the needs for the management development of middle-level managers in the commercial bank from two aspects:two roles (management and operation) and three levels(organizing,task and individuality).It tried to explore the potential ability needed to develop.After analyzing,it is concluded that there are 12 kinds of abilities needed to be developed for the middle-level managers in G Commercial Bank. Based on the above research,we had a further investigation with case study by questionnaire and found that two operating abilities(that is,risk-controlling ability and marketing competition ability) and three management abilities(that is,executing ability,communication ability and resilience ability) are urgently needed to be developed at present for G Commercial Bank. Then we start to develop the above-mentioned five abilities by using some specific methods. This essay mainly focused on the following two problems:one is what kind of abilities G Commercial Bank should develop from the point of operation and management;the other is how to develop the abilities effectively from the three levels of organizing,task and individuality.
