With the economic globalization and the rapid development of international trade, container transportation plays an important role for its efficiency, convenience and safety. 90% of international cargo were transported by container. Since no information could be obtained from the container itself, identification and monitoring of containers are still under manual or semi-manual conditions. The accurate rate of data is only 65%. In addition, the incidents of illegal migration, smuggling and terrorist attacks by using containers are still growing. The process of container logistics is not so transparency that it has become a bottleneck restricting its development. The use of modern information technology to improve the transparency of the process of container logistics can enable all participants on the chain to dynamic track and control the container logistics, which will be conducive to the integration of the material flow, information flow and capital flow on the supply chain to realize the visualized collaboration management on container logistics for the whole process. As a result, the process can be reorganized, the overall efficiency of the supply chain can be improved and logistics costs can be reduced, thus increasing the the core competitiveness of the container logistics supply chain and bringing benefits for the all participants.RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology is an automatic identification technology raised from the 1990s, which has been widely used in manufacturing and assembly, access control, automatic toll roads, animal identification and tracking, postal management, library management and mine management. Applying RFID technology in container logistics has become the inevitable trend. However, there is a high requirements on the overall coordination, security, reliability and economy of the supply chain because container e-tag has typical industry characteristics and a large number of clients are involved. Plenty of international famous company also did some research in container RFID system. But there is no company in the world that could bring e-tag applying in the real pilot into effect.Supported by National Key Technology R&D Program" modern port logistics services demonstration project" (2006BAH02A17) ,this paper made a deep study in RPID-based container logistics system with visualized collaboration management for the whole process. First of all, this paper created the new model of visualized collaboration management in container logistics for the whole process for the first time, by focusing on the developing trend of container logistics, the introduction of the concept of supply chain collaboration management, and by taking RFID as the approach to realize. On the basis of the system analysis, this paper built the overall structure of the system, introduced the key technologies and key equipment. The system have been successfully applied in "Shanghai - Savannah"pilot-the world's first container RFID demonstration pilot used for commercial purpose. China and the United States on container routes to build the world's first. Finally, by summing up the outcome of the program, we did a lot of research in standardization and submitted a draft of international standards to promote the establishment of international standards.
