RFID And Application Of It In The Logistics & Distribution

The success of enterprise informatization lies on the integrity and authenticity of data. Automatic identification technology is an information technology which automatically gathers information by using information system. RFID is an advanced form of automatic identification technology and has its own unique technical advantage. Nearby, RFID becomes the focus of the industry and its application in logistic and supply chain is wonderfully successful. It becomes an impetus of the development of logistic and supply chain. This paper takes RFID as an object of research, discussing the RFID's standard and its application in domestic and foreign application. On the base of this, it demonstrates the perspective of its application in domestic logistic and supply chain, especially in distribution management indicating the problems of application and relative measures. Firstly, this paper introduces the basic theory of RFID including three aspects : Classification tag, Kinds of read machine and antenna. And then it states the different kinds of the standard of RFID and the dispute of these standards, and mostly analyses the domestic establishment of its standard. Secondly, this paper indicates the application of RFID especially in logistic and supply chain management which reflecting its spacious market. In the third part of this text, logistic distribution, distribution centre and its operational process has been introduced. At the same time, the text points out the main problems in logistic distribution centre, take some examples of application of RFID in logistic distribution and give two models of RFID's application in logistic distribution focusing on its notable effect. Basing on above, the text summarizes the critical factors which influence the RFID's application including cost, price, standard, privacy security. At the end of this paper, according the problems and facts of the RFID's domestic application in logistic field, it introduces five measures targeting at cost, standard, requirement of market , reformation of institution and rebuilding of process. The purpose to promote the application of RFID in logistic distribution and accelerate the development of domestic logistic industry.
