Knowledge management can improve efficiency and quality of product development, manufacture, marketing and services. Generally knowledge management consists of the processes or the activities of knowledge creation, assessment, reuse, modification and updating. A knowledge management system is a software system to help enterprise to manage knowledge. And because application requirements of enterprise are always changed, the adaptability and availability of knowledge management system are required. Thus, the key issue of adaptive knowledge management system is to model knowledge management process. During the procedure of modeling for adaptive knowledge management system process, the following issues need be studied: 1) the integrating problem of knowledge management and business process; for the activities of knowledge creation, knowledge assessment and knowledge application are intensively related with business process, then to integrate knowledge management process and business process not only can help the enterprise employee to quickly finish the knowledge management work in the course of business process, but also can reduce the extra burden of employee, finally knowledge can be pushed to the suitable employee on time according to the context of activity; 2) the participant assignment problem of knowledge management activity; only assigning the suitable participant for the knowledge management activity can guarantee the knowledge quality of the enterprise knowledge base.However, now the existing knowledge management model and system can't deeply study the integrating modeling method of knowledge management process and business process, which makes disjoint of knowledge management activity and business process. Moreover the knowledge can't be dynamically pushed to the employee in the business process according to the process context. And lacking the study of participant assignment of knowledge management process, the quality of the knowledge assessment can't be guaranteed. All of these deficiencies bring about the problems of the knowledge management system which can't adapt to complex requirement of enterprise. In response to these issues, the main efforts of this paper are as follows:1. Firstly relevant researches on knowledge, knowledge management, knowledge management system, ontology, business process management, context information and software adaptive architecture are reviewed.2. Context-based integrating model of knowledge management process and business process are discussed, and the adaptive knowledge management process model method is researched. Then the main functions of integrating model are given, and the implementation of context-based SOA framework is introduced.3. An ontology-based knowledge management Participant Assignment framework is introduced, which integrates enterprise organization model and the data of business process into domain ontology. Further the language syntax specification of knowledge management Participant Assignment rule and a rule generation algorithm are given, and a visual editing tool for workflow participant assignment rules are developed, which allows users to assign most workflow participants without any coding.
