The Practice And Study Of 6-sigma Management Method In The Company Of Steel Pipe

Julong Steel Pipe Co.,Ltd. is a joint venture. Julong Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. is a major domestic LSAW (longitudinal seam submerged arc welded) steel pipe manufacturer for natural gas & petroleum transportation. The primary issue which the company faced at present is increasing the product quality. Hence, the author chose the application of 6-sigma management method in the company as study project of master's degree.The thesis contains four chapters. The introduction part in chapter one introduced the organization structure and management of JLSP. Based on quality management of pipe-production enterprise,confirming the study methodology of the thesis. In chapter two, the author looks through the history of quality management, introduces what is 6-sigma management, its importance and necessity, discusses the comparison between 6-sigma and other performance improvement methods, and carries out an analysis based on present conditions of this company, implements 6-sigma management on the basis of ISO 9000 quality management system. Chapter three showed the process of the company set up its own 6-sigma management structure according to production characteristics of LSAW steel pipe and practical conditions of the company, allocates relative 6-sigma personnel and appropriate roles, and equip necessary 6-sigma notion and knowledge training. The author also introduces how to implement DMAIC improvement activity using 6-sigma breakthrough tools in chapter four, then find out key process and key points to list into the project for management, finally realize comprehensive capacity of 6-sigma and achieve the objective of performance improvement of the company.
