Wedding Customs' Changing Of Su Bei Regions Along The Canal In Qing Dynasty

Wedding custom is one of the most important subjects of folklore studies. The study on wedding customs's changing of Su Bei regions which along the canal in Qing dynasty means studying on wedding customs's changing of Xu Zhou, Huai An ,Yang Zhou in Su Bei Regions along the canal. Wedding vogue's changing include marriage depend on prosperity, abnormal marriage ,extravagant vogue and idea's changing. In Su Bei regions of Qing dynasty, as the developing of commodity economy and the shocking of exotic culture, prosperity marriage and extravagant degree in wedding exceed ordinary people's endurance, some abnormal marriage appeared. Meanwhile, inflected by the concept of marriage depend on prosperity ,the extravagant vogues of marriage and the marriage concept changed , idea of people who have the same surname should not marry and the official's family number should not marry the businessman's family number were broken, traditional family status marriage was impacted. Influenced by too early marriage and delayed marriage ,the marriageable age was not invariable in Su Bei regions of Qing dynasty , it changed upon the changing of society and showed fluctuate trend as a whole .Along with Chinese society's modernizing, the wedding custom which located in the society's surface layer changed apparently ,the traditional six betrothal gifts changed in its name ,form and meaning, and its procedure begun to become simple ;social economy's development and eastern culture's introduction caused civilized wedding's appearance which impacted the traditional wedding .Traditional wedding custom was also the leading style but changed gradually, new marriage values and wedding customs appeared, a new multi-development situation which contained the new one and the old one's coexisting and the orient -style and the occidental-style's blending was formed. Peasants war, emperor Kang Xi and Qian Long's inspection tour around the south of the Yangtza River ,commodity economy's development ,social guiding and western culture's infiltration were the most important causes of the wedding customs'changing of Su Bei regions which along the canal in Qing dynasty.
