Business strategy is a set of overall plans made by corporates facing up with heated competitions in continuously changing environment in order to keep sustainable competitive advantage and growth. Commercial banks strategy management certainly is the key approach to improve and enhance commercial banks' competence. Therefore, study and management of commercial banks' strategy is becoming crucial more than ever.Now, development and reforming of commercial banks in China is at the very important moment. Firstly, business culture and banking structure has been in the process of reforming and strategic adjustment towards commercialization. Secondly, with the influx of foreign banks, Chinese banks are headed up with more-than-even huge competition and pressure. Hence, due to the above-mentioned both internal and external pressure and requests, commercial banks in China are doing strategic reengineering on retail section.This article is sampling China construction bank 1st tier branch - Suzhou Branch, and doing a full study analysis on its strategic reengineering plans and processes on retailing business section. It uses not only strategic analysis methodologies such as SWOT, but informational case study as well. Hereafter lists this article's main topics and viewpoints.1. Statement of strategy and commercial bank strategy management theories, and study on three steps of bank strategy management, i.e. make, execute, and control.2. Analysis of the necessity of China Construction Bank strategy reengineering on retail business section. In the meantime, its reviews the development history of retail section, and bench marks other Chinese/foreign banks.3. Through SWOT analysis on China Construction Bank Suzhou branch, it presents strategic mission during next three years: providing the best customer services; create the best values for shareholders: offer employee growth and development opportunities; and be the best retail business bank in Suzhou. In the end, it lists the main strategic areas in CCB Suzhou branch, and details the procedure to strategically reengineer its retail business section.
