And last, based on the respective analysis of the higher-education self-study examinations and the status quo of agricultural economic development in Sichuan province and with regard to the progressively decreasing trend of enrollment in such examinations, questionnaires are devised to investigate the influencing factors and logit model is established in terms of data accumulated to analyze the factors affecting examinees' desire to enroll in self-study examinations as well as the relationship between the development of agricultural economy and the higher-education self-study examinations. By using data accumulated from 1986 to 2006, the paper quantitatively explores the contribution of agriculture-involving higher-education self-study examinations to the growth of agricultural economy. Meanwhile, by means of co-integration test, VAR model, impulse response function and Granger causality test, the relationship between higher-education self-study examinations and the growth of agricultural economy has been tested positively. The results show that (1) the long-term stable balanced relationship exists between the graduates' number as well as invested funds of self-study examinations, the investment of agricultural fixed assets and the growth of agricultural economy; (2) the contribution of long-term capital investment to the growth of agricultural economy is remarkable.
