China Tie Tong had carried great expectations to break the monopolize situation in the fixed telephone service market when it was established in 2000. Unfortunately, China Tie Tong's development became difficult and limited in the crucial external competition environment as it failed to set up clear missions and guidelines to implement strategic goals effectively. The telecommunication industry in China will be facing a great reorganization merge in 2008. One of the reorganization schemes is that China Tie Tong be merged into China Mobile and will keep operate independently for a period of time after merge. After the reorganization take place China Tie Tong needs to formulate and implement new strategies to adapt to dramatic changes of the interior and exterior environment and strive to achieve competitive advantages in the new market.This text has utilized the following strategic analysis tools which include PEST, the Five-Forces Model of Competition, SWOT and the reorganization strategic tools to carry out studies on how to set up a strategy that is suitable for the development of China Tie Tong after reorganization and the schemes to implement these strategies.This text first utilized PEST method to carry out detailed analysis of the macroscopic environment of China which helps China Tie Tong to monitor the external forces that could affect the company. The text then analyzed the company's competitive forces by collecting and evaluating information about the rival firms to determine the strengths and weaknesses of its competitors. It further adopted SWOT analysis tools to identify China Tie Tong's internal strengths and weaknesses as well as the external opportunities and threats after reorganization. At last it identified the problems of China Tie Tong's existing strategies and provided relevant solutions. This whole analysis helps China Tie Tong to formulate an effective strategy and a long term development plan and a complete strategic implementation scheme after reorganization.
