The Performance Evaluation Of ERP System Project

Because of the change of work way in companies and the enhancement of efficiency after having ERP system, ERP is very important to the companies which are chasing for Enterprise informationlization. But the performance appraisal theories are not satisfied for the goal appraisal of ERP project. So the performance evaluation of ERP project is helpful for companies in this process. Based on the evaluation theory and evaluation method of information system in the past, this paper has studied on performance evaluation of ERP project systematically. The main achievements are as follows:For manufacturing industry, from project management and based on the evaluation theory of information system project, the paper has presented the three phases evaluation model and constructed KPI evaluation system. The KPI in systems of every evaluation phase and the connections between every phase has been classified systematically.At the enterprise resources optimized stage, according to the characters of ERP, the paper has constructed the proposal evaluation system based on six factors: management level, human resources, finance, information technology, basic data and efficiency of manufacture operation. Whether successful or not in next phase is influenced by this phase.At the phase of performance evaluation for implementing ERP, the typical processes that how to implement ERP system has been interpreted, and the importance of business process reengineering in the whole process has been emphasized. Then the KPI have been extracted from three main factors to construct the performance evaluation system: project control, satisfaction of team players and the quality of the system.At the ERP running phase, according to the characters of performance evaluation of ERP and standing on the traditional manufacture area, from the enterprise view, the paper has constructed the performance evaluation system from four factors: efficiency of manufacture operation, finance revenue and cost, customer satisfaction and improvement of self competition .The APH method is available in the four evaluation system.According to the characters for ERP system, these achievements adopted different KPI in different phases to construct the performance evaluation system to evaluate the performance with quantification. At the beginning of the project, they are used for optimizing enterprise resources; at the middle of the project, they are used for project management; when the system is running, they are used for system performance evaluation. These studies can help enterprise to improve the possibility of ERP project success and enhance the ability of competition. The study of ERP project performance evaluation theory and method has the significance to both practice of national policy and enterprise informationization development.
