Peoject Management Of A New Product Development Based On Critical Chain Method

Critical Chain Method (CCM) is a way that Theory of Constraint (TOC) applies to project management, which has become a hotspot in the field of theory research of project management. As soon as this method was created, it had been considered as a great improvement in the field of project management since CPM and PERT were invented. While CCM has got much success in the process of practice, a lot of famous international companies gradually apply it to improve project management.Based on the thinking process of TOC and detailed working steps, this thesis systematically practice process that apply CCM to a new product development, and also mentions CCM's strong point and weakness.This thesis applies CCM to the process of new product development, summarizes the application of CCM to new product development, which can be a reference of similar project management. This thesis shows CCM's reasonability and effectiveness by comparing the traditional PM method with CCM. Task duration estimation of 90% possibility replaced by 50% possibility, effectively reduces these factors of project delay, such as Students'Syndrome,Parkinson's Law,multi-task effect and uncertainty. It effectively protect project critical chain and duration time by setting project buffer, feeding buffer and resource buffer etc. Management of buffer can effectively control the running of project and monitor the status of project.
