Acompany with the economic globalization nowadays, Business model change to fulfill the economic development. In the whole supply chain, business segment become more and more fractionized and specialized. The global OEM companys will pay more and more attention about their marketing promotion and make their brand well-know by marketing. At same time, they subcontract and outsource their manufacture and production. And the trend becomes more and more popular in these years. First comes from telecom industrial and now extend to consume electronics as well. The change provides fast developing opportunity to EMS industrial, especially for those globe EMS suppliers. The competition between major EMS providers becomes aggravating. Recently, Flextronics announce the acquisition of another key EMS competitor Solectron. And Foxconn acquired a lot of component supplier to enhance their vertical intergration capability. Top ten EMS suppliers trigger the competition from company operation, technology, especially in supply chain competition among enterprises. To build a close partnership with suppliers is an efficient way to enhance supply chain competitive advantage for an enterprise. Excellent supplier management can not only ensure supply stability, but also advance supplier partnership to strengthen key competitive advantage of an enterprise.Meanwhile, Global manufacture resource continuously transfers to low cost region and China is becoming world's manufacturing center. Top 10 EMS providers follow up this trend and set up their facility in Asia pacific. In China, there are many manufacture facility of top ten EMS provider in Pearl delta,Yangzi delta and around Beijing region. At same time, Chinese suppliers play a more and more important role in the whole supply chain. Those global OEM, EMS ODM set up their manufacture facility, design certer and procurement certer in China to enhance their supply chain net in China.In this thesis, Company S– one of top 10 global multinational EMS providers was taken as an example to study the effect strategy of supplier management in EMS industial. Firstly, there is brief introduction of currently developing situation of global electronics manufacture and EMS industial. Quote out the importance of supply chain and supplier management in the industial. Then have a brief introduction of the operation of S company and currently supplier management status, find out the existing key problems S company faced. To do this in the paper, the supplier management was studied by different methods, such as illustration, induction, comparison, deduction and discursion. Finally, It concluded that successful supplier management depends on the correct supplier evaluation and development, systematic daily affair management, efficient performance assessment mechanism, impactful supplier cooperation and risk management. This thesis is separated into seven chapters:Chapter I introduced the developing milestone and the principle of supply chain management and supplier management.Chapter II A briefly described global electronics manufacture and EMS instustial developing status, do a comparison about S company with the key competitor, analyze the strength and weakness of S company, and introduce the internal and external operating situation of S company. Furhter to study the strategy of supplier management for Company S, analyze the key existing problem of supplier management in S company. Do a comparison of the supplier management with those key competitors and find out the strength and weakness of supplier management in S company.Chapter III elaborated main elements of supplier development and new supplier assessment. Daily Supplier performance management and supplier segment for management.Chapter IV Recap the continuously improvement of supplier management system, include to establish supply chain partnership, new project design-in, supplier manage inventory and information sharing and improvement system of production plan.Chapter V discussed supplier cooperation and risk management and worked out several strategies to enhance cooperation and elude risk for Company S.Chapter VI summarized the whole thesis of the conclusion. In this thesis, the author endeavor to emphasize the importance in guidance for practical operations of this research on the basis of facts, while elaborate and apply theories systematically. Hope that the study of this thesis could be valuable contribution for Company S practice and strategy direction.
