Industrialization Problem And Countermeasure Of Rapeseed Production In Shaanxi Province

With the long history of rapeseed cultivation for suitable soil and climate, Shaanxi is approved as key zones for rapeseed development by the government of China. At present, the industrialization development of canola rapeseed is restricted by researches, management, extension and business level of rapeseed. It is important for exerting resources advantage, Adjusting industrial structure, improving farmers incomes and promoting development of agricultural economy in countryside to find problems on basis of learn about the present situation.Based on natural resource conditions of Shaanxi province, analyzed history and status of quality improvement, cultivation systems and yield increasing on rapeseed in Shaanxi together with characteristics and experiences in domestic and abroad, the paper indicated that principal issues at the area are :﹡The double low varieties have not been registered nowadays in the north of Weihe river area where there is no irrigation conditions and the annual rainfall is less.﹡The area of rapeseed planted is decreasing because there is competition between rapeseed and wheat in Guanzhong area where locates at middle of Shaanxi province.﹡The varieties with early maturity are scarcely and the cost price is higher in the south of Shaanxi province.In addition, the quality supervisory and management system has not been established and cultivation techniques of rapeseed is behind.Based on the above problems, the study proposed the strategies for development of rapeseed in Shaanxi province :﹡To develop varieties with cold resistance and drought resistance adapting to plant in Weihe river area and the plastic film mulching cultivation should be used to increase the yield .﹡to plant the rapeseed in dry land of Guanzhong area where there is no irrigation condition.﹡To plant varieties with earlier mature and to explore no-tillage techniques for cost decreasing in south of Shaanxi province.In addition, the following measures should be taken: working out the favorable policies, supporting the development of higher quality rapeseed industrialization, giving full play to natural resources advantages, establishing the base of rapeseed production, investing more in research, improving the team quality and adhering to industrial production and standard operation.The author believes that the prospect of rapeseed development in Shaanxi province is good as long as the team related to rapeseed take the rapeseed production as the first work in their mind, support the development of rapeseed in policies and implement the cultivation techniques of rapeseed extension.
