The Taxonomic Research On The Individuated Towns In Jiaodong Peninsula

With the rapid development of urbanization, there has been obvious regional similarity among the urban constructions. This phenomenon negatively affects the cooperation of industries among cities, making the human settlement environment lack variety. Moreover the improvement of integrated regional competitiveness was hindered. This paper points out that individuated urban construction, which is an important trend of urban development in China in 21st century, will help to solve such problems as the similarity of the townscapes, lack of characteristics and competitive strength, etc in the rapid process of urbanization. To construct more individuated towns, the primary work should be the research on positioning of the towns, which not only provides the towns with systematic and academic guidance in the process of searching and establishing the individuation. Also it will enrich and develop the theory of the town planning, put forward advanced and feasible proposals for the construction of urban individuated towns.Taxonomic study on individuated towns is an important part of the system research on the Town Individuation Positioning theory .The approach is carried on by analyzing the factors that influence the formation of Town Individuation , then establishing the index system according to these factors and individual characteristics of each town in certain region . At last, mathematic model is applied to classify the towns.This paper first puts forward the concept of"individuated town", and discusses the definitions of"town individuation"and"individuated town"and the significance of research. It analyses the basic factors affecting the formation of town characteristics and establishes the structure diagram of influencing factors.Then 11 towns in Weihai were recognized as the objects of study and classified according to the Individuated Town Taxonomic Index System. Finally, compared with the practicalities, the result of classification validates its reliability and affirms adaptability and veracity of the above index system . Based on this conclusion and the further study on individuation exploitation, this paper puts forwards the five-step strategy: mining, classification, positioning, planning and development , also it gives a practical example analysis combined with the classification .This paper is made up of six parts: The first part is the Introduction. Firstly the paper brings forward the connotation of individuated town. Then it introduces the background of the research, significance and research status quo both at home and abroad.The second part is the Academic Support. The paper puts forward the theory of inhabitation environment. It discusses the similarity between the theory of inhabitation environment and individuation town in urban sustainable development. It introduces the theory of urban competition and discusses the significance of individuation town in urban competition theory. Finally, the paper narrated the complementary effect that the positioning of individuated town put on urban orientation theory.The third part is the foundation of the research. The paper deeply analyzes the main factors which influenced the formation of individuated town, including the three first-class factors which is natural, human and economic ingredients and ten second-class factors such as natural resource, cultural tradition and industrial structure. Then the structure diagram of influencing factors is designed.The fourth and fifth parts are keystone. In the fourth part, the principles of establishing the index system and selective method are designed according to the influencing factors and individuation characteristics of the 11 towns in Weihai. And the index system of individuated town is instituted. In the fifth part, certain mathematic method is adopted and the 11 towns are classified into three types each of which is analyzed in detail.The sixth part is countermeasure and suggestion. Aiming at the development of individuated town, the paper puts forward the relevant suggestion that will accelerate the healthy development of individuated town.
