With the deepening of the global economic integration and development,competition between countries and between regions increasingly intense competitivein this fierce international environment is particularly important, it is a country and aregion is to survive and develop necessary condition, is a concentrated expression ofthe comprehensive strength of the national and regional. Generally speaking, acountry is able to call it power, mainly depends on the strength of its economiccompetitiveness, its performance in the international market can be a direct reflectionof the country’s competitive strength. China wants in international trade and divisionof labor in the development of faster and better, we must rely on to improve the levelof competitiveness of our own foreign trade. China-ASEAN Free Trade Area for thedevelopment of trade between China and ASEAN countries to create a favorableinternational environment, therefore, to study the issue of trade development betweenChina and ASEAN have a special meaning and value.In this paper, the use of international market share, TC index, RCA index,foreign trade growth, the poor competitive advantage index and export commoditystructure conversion rates of these indicators of China to the ASEAN marketmerchandise trade competitiveness evaluation, and then through the building to theASEAN market merchandise trade competitiveness comprehensive evaluation systemof12indicators, according to the United Nations Commodity Trade StatisticsDatabase1994-2011years, China and ASEAN merchandise trade data, factoranalysis and comprehensive analysis to identify the impact of Chinese goods to theASEAN market The trade competitiveness factors, and finally put forward policyrecommendations for China in the ASEAN market merchandise tradecompetitiveness.Based on factor analysis, the following conclusions: China and ASEAN’s totaltrade and competitiveness has been strengthened, however, China’s relatively ASEANremains at a competitive disadvantage. China for ASEAN countries have a distinct disadvantage in primary products relative. This is mainly due to the rich naturalresources in many countries of ASEAN, and China in recent years of sustainedeconomic growth in energy, a serious shortage of resources, so the two sides arehighly complementary in such products. In recent years, the development of China’scapital and technology-intensive industries have also achieved some degree ofsuccess, its growth rate is faster than the labor-intensive products, the end of2011,however, China’s high-tech products relative ASEAN is still at a disadvantage, whilelabor-intensive products has been maintain a strong competitive advantage, which isdecided by Chinese labor, low labor costs and national conditions. China has a needto further speed up industrial upgrading, relying on science and technology, improvethe technological content and added value, and constantly optimize the industrialstructure, enhance the competitiveness of the capital-and technology-intensiveindustries.
