Furthermore, it is of realistic significance to the developing of domestic large-scale dredging enterprise to compete with others in the same industry abroad.The thesis proposed the viewpoint, thought and suggestion about the extension of dredging industry according the study in following aspects:1.Description of the dredging industry current situation, prospect and engineering application background. Economy development and market demand make dredging application extend from traditional dredging and widen waterway to correlation field, such as land reclamation from sea, oceanic engineering, irrigation works, flood-control project and environmental protection. This kind of extension is of great importance to promotion itself, China dredging industry and large-scale state-owned enterprises. Moreover, the home and abroad dredging industry and their extension field were anatomized based on the detail survey of harbor waterway construction, the need of land reclamation and development of oceanic engineering. It is concluded that there are a huge market and wide developing space in the extension of dredging industry.2.Discussion of the direction and content of dredging extension. It also proposed the "two-end extension" principle, which can be implemented by improving the method of development of land resource from sea reclamation, more positive participate in the exploitation of ocean energy source, developing the build and repair of equipment and waterway of war industry. Meanwhile, it also advised to pay more attention to R&D, brand, service aspects of dredging industrial chain to make more profit from the upstream and downstream of this filed.3.Introduction of Shanghai Waterway Bureau, the domestic leading enterprise, its exploration and experiences in extending major works, including the decision background, the measures in the exploiting the market of sea-reclamation, the trying of developing and operating of land resource and the dredge marines manufacturing.4.Also a survey of the four European giant dredging companies, which are Boskalis, Van Ooad, Yan De Nu and DI, their experiences and reference to domestic enterprise in the R&D, enlargement and intelligence of equipment and Environment protection during the dredging.As a whole, the primary research content and result in this paper are organized into several parts.Firstly, the paper demonstrated the presentation, development and expectation of home and abroad extension of dredging industry based on the literature and the significance of this study.Secondly, fundamental theory and professional knowledge of dredging have been applied to the study of the paper.Thirdly, it analyzed the influential factors of dredging extension, such as technology, equipment and so, also the conditionality and influence relationship among them, which providing the theoretical evidence for the feasibility of this study.Furthermore, the paper provided a detail analysis of dredging industry and its extended market.Finally, the paper also illustrated application background of the result achieved by this paper in dredging company and large-scale dredging project, as well as its social and economic benefit by instance.
