Shipbuilding industry is the pillar industry which supports the development of industrial economy in China; it stands for the technical and developed level of a country. In recent years, with the development of shipping market, the overall standards of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises have been improving rapidly, China has already to been one of the most important shipbuilding centers in the world. The financial crisis in 2008 brought a strong adverse impact to Chinese shipbuilding industry, Chinese shipbuilding enterprises were faced with many troubles, such as less orders, difficulty to receiving orders, orders lost and so on. So, in this situation, Chinese shipbuilding enterprises should make efforts to improve their core competitiveness, find their competitive edge, make sure the economic benefits of enterprise, endeavour to get more market share.Based on the deeply analysis of core competitiveness, the paper build a system of evaluation for the core competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises and evaluate it with extension engineering, and then, bring forward the strategies on improving the core competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises.Firstly, the paper put a research on the core competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises. To summarize the characteristic and trend in development of shipyard industry in this situation, it supports a method to distinguish the core competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises. On that base, it analyzes the inscape of the core competitiveness in Chinese shipbuilding enterprises, and point out the advantages and disadvantages.Secondly, the paper build a system to evaluate the core competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises based on the BSC theory, and design strategic map for the core competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding enterprises.
