Decresed fiber price and international competition in the market causes Jiangsu Fasten Photonics Co.,Ltd (FPC) face huge pressure to cut costs. Reduce the cost, improve the quality by inputting low capital to solve custom critcal quality factor, it is indeed instruction.This essay applies item method to define the project of reducing G652.D fiber PMD (Polarization Mode Dispersion), improving G652.D fiber qualified rate as Lean 6 sigma project, use FMEA method to analyze PMD failure during the fiber production process, to define the influence of man, machine, material, methodology, environment, measurement in quantity on PMD and develop one set of FMEA prevention measurement for Fiber PMD.For two failure items with highest risk failure and highest occurrence frequency: clad fiber diameter fluctuate widely, PMD failure after the drawing speeding, By means of the Lean 6SIGMA tools as DOE and priority sequence etc., to analyze the root cause and define the improvement measurement, Then clad fiber diameter is controlled stability within the scope of 125um±0.3, PMD indicator is controlled within 0.075 PS . /km,and G652.D fiber qualified rate is improved to 94.01%。...
