Lean six sigma is a new management model based on the integration of leanthinking and six sigma. It is the best choice for business operation to achieve qualityand speed goal at the same time and quickly. This new management mode is spreadingworld-widely in recent years. By implementing the DMAIC procedure, you can findand eliminate all kinds of waste and labour in vain, then lower the cost, improve quality,enhance production flexibility to ensure customer satisfaction and value maximization,then insure enterprise to keep dominant position in the market. With the rapidlydeveloping of China civil aviation, it is the first choice to carry out lean six sigmamanagement in civil aviation maintenance to promote competitive force.Company A has been taking up the maintenance and repair of auxiliary powerunit(APU) from2009and find it is difficult to keep pace with the voice of customer. SoCompany A decides to implement lean six sigma to prefect its operation system,management framework and staff’s idea and action, then to reduce waste, variabilityand inflexibility extremely to optimize the cost, quality and lead time of product. Thefinal target is to meet the customer’s demand and improve the profitability andcompetitiveness of Company A. The thesis presents the background and significancefirstly, then discussing the necessity of implementing lean six sigma in Company A.After that, introducing the derivation of lean thinking and six sigma and how these twoideas merge into lean six sigma, then analyzing the problem with operation system andmanagement framework, finally proposing the solution to those problems.This thesis present many solutions to perfect Company A’s operation system andmanagement framework, such as work flow, material supply chain,6s and qualityimproving with DMAIC implementation step and tools of value flow chart, SIPOCchart, C&E matrix and FEMA. With the final achievement, it is sure that lean six sigmacan really eliminate waste and promote operation efficiency and quality, reduce cost,then promote enterprise’s management level and competitive capacity continued.
