The overseas parts of Shanghai General Motors are transported to SGM mainly by Container method. When containers arrived shanghai port, SGM authorized the third part logistics supplier, Shanghai TongHui Re-Distribution center, to pull material into RDC warehouse according to SGM production plan and RDC inventory, ensure the overseas parts inventory of RDC can satisfied SGM production requirement.The study starts from the current RDC inventory, reach the conclusion that the pulling method have impact on the inventory level, the reason of high overseas crate area, then analysis the principle of pulling container. After finishing the reason, I analysis the main reason of RDC pulling system, then try to change the old method, which parts match container, to the new method, which container match parts. The new method can realize the object of pulling least container with least Non-demand parts.First, I create the concept of Use Percentage of Container, the percentage of the part which is needed by SGM, this is the main Parameter for selection. Second, according to the UPC, to design various Algorithms, create the related math model, implement by computer program and Simulate the program in the environment same as the SGM production, which means the real input of SGM actual production plan, parts inventory, the container timing, simulate the quantity of various pulling method, then compare with the current RDC algorithm. Finally, pick up the best method then take it into action, to decrease the inventory level of RDC overseas parts inventory.
