After more than twenty years' development, being an importanteconomic driver in China with its increasing economic status inside andoutside, the Yangtze River Delta region (includes Jiangsu, Shanghai,Zhejiang) has been one of the places with fastest economic developmentand strongest economic power in China.Meanwhile, in the rapid economic developing process, conflicts andproblems are in existence, especially the homogeneous phenomenon ofindustrial structure (mainly manufacturing industries) among the twoprovinces and one city. The arrangement of industrial structure in onecountry or region determines its economic strength, while the rationalityof industrial structure determines its tempo and stability. The homogeneous coefficient of structure in industry means certainsimilarity and common inclination of regional industrial structure in itsdynamic development and evolution process, chiefly the homogeneous structure in manufacturing departments. In essence, the homogeneity of industry reflects the degrees ofregional division from a lateral view by analyzing approximately thediscrete and similar degrees. It statically shows the divisional level inmanufacturing industries, and mirrors dynamically the homogeneity ofindustrial structures in time-series changes and developments. To acertain degree, convergence or divergence of the manufacturing industriesreflexes the strong or weak tendencies of the division of labor in theYangtze River Delta region. In this paper, I continue to my research from the angle of thedivision of labor on the ground of the main result of the Division-of-laborand transaction efficiency relationships of Inframarginal Analysis in NewClassical Economics. With the improvement of transaction efficiency (or the diminution ofthe transaction cost), the division of labor can occur, develop gradually, and then become the foundation of structural adjustment. Regionaldivision and specialization are evolving naturally, and regional industrialstructures are adapted correspondingly.Expenses (that is transaction cost) should be paid in harmony withthe division of labor. The cost, which is decided by the efficiency of themarket mechanism, will increase with the intensity of regional division. The conflict between profits of regional division and expenses of transactions forms the basic constraint. In this dilemma problem, thedevelopment of regional division, depended on the comparison betweenprofits and expenses above, is a self-evolutionary process. On the basis of the indirect measurement of Transaction Efficiency(that is, regarding the index of marketization as the simply substitute fortransaction efficiency) in the academic papers of domestic scholars, Iassociate the homogeneous coefficient of manufacturing industries withinfluential factors of transaction efficiency through establishing ameasurable system, and building up a compound function ofhomogeneous coefficient of manufacturing industries, regional divisionand influential factors of transaction efficiency. Then, quantitativeanalysis is made by panel data model, conclusions are drawn from theeconometric results, and related suggestions are given accordingly.
