The Research On The Economic Competitiveness Of The Yangtze River Delta In The Condition Of The Similar Industrial Structure

Under the trend of economic globalization, the urban agglomeration and economic region accompany with the distinctive feature of the regional labor division and industry cluster, playing the crucial role in the international competition. As the Yangtze River Delta became the largest and most powerful region in China, this region's problem of the similar industrial structure has aroused widespread concern.Most people think the higher degree of industry isomorphism will lead to vicious competition and the waste of resources, which is negative to the economic development. This article examined the year 2006 of the Yangtze River Delta's industrial structure, manufacturing sector, and also the textile industry from 1995 to 2007, found that the similar industry structure is a result of market-oriented, and it is desirable. For the early industrialization in the Yangtze River Delta, the developments of the manufacturing sector are hard to meeting the needs of the home and abroad, so they develop the manufacturing sector without any worries. So in terms of the similar resource endowments, it is a reasonable result.The industry isomorphism does not mean the vicious competition. This article's study on the textile industry shows a big difference in product; as it is not yet reached saturation in the domestic and foreign markets, even the products-competition can promote the region's economic development. This paper calculated the structure similarity of the Yangtze River Delta's manufacturing sector, found that it tends to decline. This also shows that the marketing competition has turned to the regional's co-operation stage. This result has been verified by the study based on the manufacturing sector and competitiveness index. Finally, the paper gives the suggestion on how to improve the Yangtze River Delta's competitiveness.
