For the past few years, many foreigners think that China is a place for the future due to its development. Chongqing is definitely one of the developing cities in China. Therefore, there is a number of foreigners visiting and staying in Chongqing for business purpose. As it is developing and becoming metropolis of China and, local people are influenced by western culture. Because of this issue, opening a unique coffee shop in a certain area is thought to be fascinating.This thesis is the business plan of a coffee shop at Chongqing University. The aims are to study the internal and external factors, in order to analysis strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, barrier, consumers'demand and feasibility of the coffee shop. Primary, secondary researches as well as the survey are used to study feasibility of operating. Short and long term objectives are set to ensure that the business is heading to the right direction. Short term objective is to build the impression to the consumers and the long term objective is to sustain the position. To achieve these objectives, business plan is done in several areas. Such plan consists of a number of areas. The first area is marketing plan, which involves positioning and marketing mixed strategies. The second area is operating plan, it is the performance of the service as well as operating process. Then, the third area is human resource plan; determine a number of employees required, also the improvement of the employees'performance. The last area is financial plan which is to take care of the income statement and net cash flow. Results from income statement and net cash flow are used as an assessment.In term of operation control, the concept of Key Performance Index or KPI is applied. The theory of KPI involves four perspectives based on Balanced Scorecard concept, which are finance, customers, internal process and organization. KPI is used along with these four perspectives to maximize the output.
