Red Tourism is a specialized form of tourism activity and production that has sprung up in recent years (in the People′s Republic of China). With distinct Chinese characteristics, Red Tourism′s major attractions are revolution-related historical relics that embody a patriotic spirit(unique to modern China). Red Tourism puts education in traveling and in playing, and it is also critical for further developing new space in tourism economic development, and it promotes the development of revolutionary districts. So it attracts a lot of tourists and becomes a new favorite product in current tourism market.This thesis studies the elementary theory of red tourism, makes a basic exposition of the conceptions of Red Tourism and Competitiveness, and generalizes the features of red tourism in current historical epoch. And in different perspectives of theme image, product program, regional cooperation, marketing promotion, resources conjoining, red tourism commodities, management and service, this thesis expounds the planning and development of red tourism in our country, and at the same time, analyzing the motive power of the development of red tourism in our country.Based on an on-the-spot investigation, the thesis chooses red tourism of Fujian′s Changting, famous because of the revolutionary poem "Red banners leap the Ting River, directly to Longyan and Shanghang", as the study case and a living example of red tourism development. Based on the introduction of the development status quo of Changting red tourism, hiefly in two aspects--Changting′s rich red resources and unique cultural charm, the thesis presents the development advantage of Changting red tourism: and simultaneously the thesis explores the weakness, the opportunity and the challenge of Changting red tourism: and finally the thesis proposes some development strategies and solutions for Changting red tourism to counter some problems existing in the development of current Changting red tourism.
