As the “smokeless industry”, the tourism industry has become one of the largestindustries in the21st century. It is a complex industry and influence other related industry alot. To every country, international tourism service trade play a significant role in its’economic development. In the tide of world tourism development, tourism services tradedeveloped rapidly and its competiveness has also been improved a lot. Travel trade hasalways kept favorite balance in our service trade department, earning the most foreignexchange. However tourism service surplus was replaced with deficit since2009and thedeficit spending are getting larger. The condition indicates that our tourism service has a lotproblem to be solved. This paper is based on this problem and tries to solve the developmentproblem. The article ideas include topic selection background, literature summary, presentsituation, theoretical analysis, empirical research, and policy recommendations.The body paragraph starts with travel service present situation analyses with basis ofexport and import data from two perspectives of inbound travel and outbound travel. Then thearticle evaluates tourism service competiveness of our country with three indicators involveInternational Market Share, Trade Specialization Coefficient (TC) and Revealed ComparativeAdvantage Index (RCA). The conclusion is that, our country has been the fourth largesttourism country, but the international competitiveness of tourism trade in services is weakerthan other leading tourism country.In order to improve international competiveness of our tourism service and be a leadingtourism country, we need to analyze influence factors of tourism. The article intends to usecombination method of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis. Theoretical analysesmainly use Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model to explain environment and competitivesituation of tourism industry. Empirical analyses are specially based on the Porter’s DiamondModel, and select the related indicators to build an econometric model. At last, the writer putsforward countermeasures and suggestions to promote tourism service trade competiveness ofour country based on the previous analyses.
