With the increasing business competition and the drastic development of management theory, technical and management innovations have significantly constituted the focus of business competition battle field. "Employee Motivation" has become a strategic method that businesses use to gain advantageous competitions. Through reasonable and effective motivation methods, the purpose is to coordinate and compromise corporate goals with personal goals, to grow employees in the direction of preset business development. Such practice has already become the core of business development strategies.This paper presents a unique plan for employee motivation. Using Shaanxi Weihe Power Plant Co, Ltd. as a case unit, the author utilizes management theory, human resources management theory, organization behavior knowledge, as well as the motivation theory. Current motivation methodology within the company is analyzed under the circumstance of recent business transformation, confounded number of senior employees, and the constant change of global business environment. Problems found in the study include incompetent employee performance evaluation, unbalanced compensation-performance levels, unmatched employee education program with corporate business goals, etc. Upon depicting disadvantages of current method and the unique needs for power plant employees, an improved employee motivation plan is presented. The new plan facilitates plant management in the following areas: improving employee performance evaluation; increase of quantitative evaluation measures; emphasize of employee management system; adjustment of current salary and compensation structure plan; maximizing motivation factors for profit-related compensation; adjustment of position factors and scales; increase of material compensation measures; improving education and motivation system; depicting employee technical grow paths; and several non-material or moral compensation skills to meet the employees moral needs. Deployment of such plan can potentially result in enhancement of employee motivation, increase of employee satisfactory level, increase of employee performance potentials, upgrade for business core competition capability, and increase of business competition potentials.This paper through analysis of current employee motivation methods presents an improved employee motivation plan that applies real business practice within a power plant. The plan is regarded applicable to other similar corporate units in the industry.
