It is a tough challenge to start a business from scratch. Over more than decades of hard-working and struggling, having achieved a certain amount of the preliminary capital accumulation, Yingfeng Corporation (hereinafter referred to as YFC) is now faced with the topic of how to continue its further growing, become much stronger in a sustainable manner. A number of private enterprises went to bankruptcy failing to break through development bottleneck one after another. The most of private enterprises in China were short-lived with a very short average life of only 3.9 years---really a flash in the pan! What's the reason behind the "short-life" of the enterprises in China? The study revealed that it is most because the enterprises cannot get away from the various bottleneck restrictions in the process of development. Among such bottlenecks, the current situation of the workforce of private enterprises, especially the core employees drain, has become one major bottleneck restriction for their sound progress of development.Based on theoretical analysis and case study of an enterprise in China, this paper is to research its current motivation options, probe into the problems, and put forward the possible strategies for improvement and adjustment.The paper consists of six chapters. Chapter One: Discussion & Reflection on Motivation Theory & Motivation Mechanism. Firstly, to define the Motivation and then expound it; secondly, to discuss the Motivation Theory; lastly, to comment on its theoretical significance and guiding function, and also to review the problems in motivation theories that I came across based on my own cognition, capability, and knowledge. Chapter Two: to define the core employees of the case, and to analyze and research the status in quo of the motivation mechanism designed for such a group. Chapter Three: to identify the reasons why problems in motivation mechanism occurred. Chapter Four: to make concrete suggestions and adjustment strategies towards its current motivation mechanism. The theme of the paper is to attempt to build a scientific, effective and realistic motivation mechanism for the workforce in the enterprise.
