Since the reforming and opening of China, Hangzhou's economy has developedquickly, along with its industrialization and urbanization. But it can not be neglectedthat the extensive pattern in economy development has not been changed. Therewere many problems in its land use, such as shortage of land resource in regionalmarket. Therefore, it's very necessary to carry out such a research about optimallyallocating land resources and maximizing its economic outputs to supportcontinually development of regional economy in Hangzhou city which is confrontingwith stringent constraint in land resources.The dissertation reviews the existing literature of land intensive theory andproposes an integral one. Based on this theory, it constructs the land intensive useindicator system and utilizes the analytic hierarchy process. The dissertation analyseshangzhou's land from four aspects, which are city land, industrial land, city area landand the land of industrial corporation. It compares the situation of Hangzhou's landuse to that of the domestic and foreign developed city. Then it summarizes thecharacteristics of Hangzhou's land use.The dissertation analyses the limitation of Hangzhou's land use from four aspects, which are the industrial structure, government regulation, marketmechanism, as well as the competition between the local authorities.Finally, based on the analysis of the limitation of Hangzhou's land use, thedissertation proposes the suggestion of land intensive use from the above fouraspects.
