China is experiencing a special time when the economy is developing rapidly and people in all kinds of enterprises gets great work stress. Work stress can influence people physically and psychologically, furthermore can influence the operation of organizations. So the studies of work stress will not only benefit people's health in both of physical and psychology, but also be useful to the efficiency of organizations and all the economy.Based on the studies of others, this study focuses on the relationship of work characters and work stress, the relationship of personality traits and work stress, the relationship of work and subjective well-being, and the relationship of personality traits, work stress and subjective well-being. This study starts with bringing up the issue by analyzing documents. Then this study investigated 266 employees of company in several cities by questionaris. At last, this study analyzed the data by deviation method, correlation method and regression method.Finally, there are five main results: (1) the variability of work stress among work characters is more significant than the variability of work stress among demographic variables. (2) Work stress of employees in private enterprises is greater than employees' in other kinds of enterprises. (3)It is found that the variability of the impact between work and non-work among work characters is significant. (4) Neuroticism, extraversion and agreeableness can influence work stress significantly. (5) Neuroticism and the impact between work and non-work can influence work stress significantly.
