Since ancient times work and family are two most important domains in our life. With the continuous development of Spiritual Civilization, the scope of people's lives gradually enriched. Things like work, home, entertainment, hobbies, community, religion, various clubs, etc. gradually expand the area of people's activities. Nowadays, more and more organizations are blurring the boundaries between work and non-work life through practices such as flextime, telecommuting, and on-site day-cares. Such integration of work and non-work life is purported to help employees find the seemingly elusive "work-life balance", however it motivates employees to integrate closely his/her role of work and private life. Will the integration of work and non-work roles assist employees to balance the life between work and non-work? How to integrate the roles to improve Individual's physical and mental health and subjective well-being, and how to manage the boundaries between roles of work and non-work for employees to improve one's performance? From the perspective of the role boundary management, this paper will discuss the issue about boundaries between of work and non-work.This study is based on Clark's work/family border theory and Ashforth's role boundary theory. From micro perspective of the role boundary strategy, we identify the corresponding position on the role's continuum of separation and integration for individual's integration strength of work and non-work roles. By measuring the integration gratitude of work and non-work roles, subjective well-being and individual work performance, we can better understand employees'boundary management strategies between work and personal life roles in Chinese firms. Through correlation analysis and regression analysis, we will further discuss which kind of boundary management strategy enhances the individual's subjective well-being and improves work performances.By investigation with questionnaire and sampling at major first-tier and second-tier city in China, our participants are knowledge workers from enterprises, institutions, hospitals, schools and other institutions. We got 585 samples in the end. Through detailed statistical analysis, our study validates major hypotheses. Here are some major conclusions.Ⅰ.
