In recent years,The rail transit construction has entered a period of full blowout in China. As the first prefecture-level city opening urban rail transit,Suzhou has never experienced major quality problems and safety accidents since the first line started in 2007.No matter the speed of construction or the quality of the project,we are at the leading position in whole country. It is the hard work of rail transport builders under tremendous work pressure behind the success of Suhzou rail transit project, including construction, opening up and operating. When the work stress is too high, workers' performance level will slip. Therefore,Suzhou rail transit project participants can also be affected by work stress. However, the domestic research on the status quo of participants' work stress in rail transit projects is less.Based on the literature review, this paper adopts the method of qualitative and quantitative analysis and selects the participants of Suzhou rail transit project as the research object through questionnaires and interviews aiming to accomplish the following three main objectives:(1)identify the work stressors of Suzhou rail transit project participants;(2)analyze the main work stress response of participants in Suzhou rail transit project;(3)summarize the main work stress countermeasures of the participants in Suzhou rail transit project at present. These research results can provide some reference for the work stress management of rail transit projects in Suzhou and other parts of China. The paper mainly includes six parts: The first chapter is an introduction. This part introduces the research background, including industry background and theoretical background. It is aimed to determine the research objectives, research methods, research content and structure. The second chapter is related theory. This part introduces the theoretical basis related to the research topics, including the work stress, the work stressors, the impact of work stress, and the countermeasures of work stress. The third chapter is the questionnaire survey.Take the staff of Suzhou Rail Transit Project as the main object and 150 questionnaires are distributed to obtain the relevant data whichu is needed for the research. The software SPSS22.0 is used to test the reliability and validity of the survey results, and the factors of each research variable are analyzed and described to explore the status quo of the working pressure of the group. The fourth chapter is interview.Through interviewing 18 participants from different Suzhou rail transit projects,we can understand the main work stressors, stress response and coping strategies, and get the qualitative data related to the research topics. The fifth chapter is the work stress management measures and suggestions.According to the previous research,we propose targeted work stress management suggestions from two aspects: organization and individual. The sixth chapter is the conclusion and outlook.Summarized the main conclusions of this paper, put forward the inadequacies of the research,as well as the future research direction. In order to study the status quo of participants' work stress in Suzhou rail transit project, from March 2016 to April 2017,surveys were conducted on the participants of Suzhou rail transit project. The survey was conducted by randomly distributing paper questionnaires. The number of valid questionnaires was 127 and the 84.7% of those were efficient.Based on the statistical analysis of the questionnaire, the following conclusions are indicated:(1)The main work stressors of participants in Suzhou rail transit projectThrough factor analysis,it is found that the working stress of the participants in Suzhou rail transit project mainly comes from six aspects, and they are sorted according to the statistical results of descriptive analysis: working environment, interpersonal relationship, organizational climate, factors of the work itself, demand, career development.Among them, the working environment is the most important work stressors.(2)The response of participants' work stress in Suzhou rail transit projectUnder the influence of work stress, the respondents will obviously have a physiological response mainly based on fatigue(3.24),with a psychological reaction of depression(3.50)and a decrease in behavioral work efficiency(3.60).(3)Coping strategies associated with work stress of participants in Suzhou rail transit projectWhen facing work stress, participants in the Suzhou rail transit project mainly adjust themselves from the perspective of the individual(2.97),such as asking social support(2.24)and adopting a positive attitude(2.43).Organization(3.05)also played a positive role in helping employees, but there is still room for improvement.Although the research results in this paper can provide a basis for the stress management of participants in domestic rail transit projects. There are still some shortcomings in the research. For example, the collected samples have geographical limitations,so the conclusions of the study may only apply to the participants of the Suzhou rail transit project. In future studies, participants in rail transit projects in other regions can be chosen to conduct surveys to compare differences in work stressors, coping strategies associated with work stress among rail transit participants in different regions, making better conclusions of the studying work stress status of participants in Chinese rail transit project.
