Beginning with the explanation of the relationship between performance management and enterprise strategy, this dissertation studies mainly how to design performance management system based upon enterprise strategy. Some general theories and methods of PM are also applied in the study. Taking the PM system of DN Company as a case, the dissertation explains comprehensively the concepts, schematic design, implementation and improvement of strategy-orientated PM system.Firstly, the components and general functions of PM system are introduced, the strategic standing and roles of PM in enterprise operation are discussed, and the great importance of strategy-orientated PM system is explained.Secondly, the dissertation studies the design of enterprise strategy-based PM system and proposes that the basic frame of this system should consist of four parts, namely PM organization and responsibility system, PM rules design, performance targets system and PM implementation. This is the key content and also an innovation of the dissertation. The dissertation also explains the principles and contents of the schematic design of performance appraisal, the common appraisal methods, the procedures for building up performance targets system, the methods for determining KPI and the processes for implementing PM.Thirdly, the dissertation also discusses how to improve enterprise PM system. The contents for building up a human resources management platform and the procedures for implementing the comprehensive PM are explained, and some common problems arising from the practical operation of PM system are analyzed so that enterprises would pay enough attention to these problems.Finally, taking the KPI-cored PM system of DN Company as a case, the dissertation proves the basic frame of enterprise strategy-based PM system. The contents, principles, methods and standards of KPI evaluation, behavior evaluation and comprehensive evaluation of annual performance of this Company are introduced, and the performance appraisal model for high-rank managers of the Company is explained in details. The Company's experience of implementation and improvement of PM system is also introduced, and the balanced budget control methodology is raised.
