Research Of Business Intelligence Based On ODS And Application In Steel Industry

As an assistant platform, BI aims at transforming numerous data into the information or the knowledge that administrators interest, it also gives out the result by many differrent ways. Through the application of this platform, administrators can make much more appropriate determinations, they can optimize the technics, and the company can deal with more challenges. As a dataset, ODS support company's daily applications, it's a new data environment that differents from database; it's a new framework of BI. This article first introduces all the BI technologies, then focuses on the following aspects and got creative research results.(1)The research on ODS classification. This article focuses on the ODS technology and classifies ODS from a new point of view-the method data updates. We also make a detailed contrast between those kinds of ODS. Data flow is the main thread that goes through the BI process, the advantage of make classification from this point of view is that we can realize where the data goes, so that we can understand BI process better.(2)This article brings forward a new framework suitable for steel industry. By now, the application in steel industry is unmature, which framework to choose when we carry on the BI process is still an unsolved problem. This article concerns on this problem and brings forward a new framework suitable for steel industry. The new framework based on ODS is an extension of the old one. Meanwhile, we contrast the old framework to the new one.(3)The application of BI technologies in the steel industry. We apply the technolo-gies--ODS, ETL, Data Mining, to steel industry based on the new framework and give out some of the results.
