As market competition intensifies and the ever-changing environment, more and more enterprises know that Self-Managed Teams (STM) with the creativity, high IQ and results-oriented employees can well adapt to environmental change, and effectively achieve the objectives of the firm. But in China, many corporations have not good cognition to STM, and they lack of specific practices and theoretical guidance. At present China has joined the WTO, Chinese enterprises are facing the economic challenges of globalization, the introduction of STM is particularly important. This paper is from this background, targeted to Chinese enterprises, to study the building of STM.Firstly, in the introductory part discussed of the need for Chinese enterprises building this type of teams and the significance of the paper's research, and made this research ideas and innovations; Secondly, summarize and evaluate some issue of STM, and made traditionalteam-self-managed team development continuum model,summarizes the characteristics of self-management-type team; thirdly, analyzed the feasibility of STM implement in a specific business unit in China, then analyze the likely obstacles facing to Chinese enterprises when building STM from inside and outside of a organization, in order to enable Chinese enterprises in a process of building STM to take...
