With the development of organization structure, team as a new way of working, has been accepted by more and more enterprise, thereby team-building became the focus of people's attention. Team is a group of people work together, team-building means integrate team members to explore their potential to the largest extent so that the team efficiency can be improved. To build a team not only just means select the most suitable people, but more important to consider the best mix of personnel. When do team-building, team managers can make use of Belbin's team role theory, and make it as a reference frame.This article firstly has a detailed review of team roles and team interact process as well as team effectiveness. And then select teams and departments of several enterprises in Nanjing and its surrounding areas as study objects. Self-Perception Inventory, Team Effectiveness Scale and Team Interact Process Scale were used to conduct an empirical research, using SPSS13.0 to analyze the feedback of the survey to test the assumption of the study. The main conclusions are as follows:1. There is no significant difference between team roles and gender, age, educational background, team type, team size. However, some of the team roles have a significant difference with the ownership of enterprises.2. There is a correlation relationship between team roles and team effectiveness, but all of these do not reach significant level.3. There is also a correlation relationship between team roles and team interact process. Among these correlation relationships, Shaper and Resource Investigator have a significant relationship with communication; Shaper also has a significant relationship with relationship conflict; Shaper/Plant/Team Worker/Completer Finisher have a significant relationship with task conflict.4. Team interaction process has a correlation relationship with team effectiveness. Communication has a significant relationship with task effectiveness, contextual effectiveness and total effectiveness. Cohesive force and relationship conflict also have a significant relationship with task effectiveness, contextual effectiveness and total effectiveness. Task conflict has a correlation relationship with task effectiveness, contextual effectiveness and total effectiveness, but doesn't reach significant level.5. Between team roles and team effectiveness, team interaction process plays an intermediary role, but only with some of the team roles and also not all the team interaction process plays intermediary role.At the ending of this article, this research also explores the use of team role theory in team-building practice and gives some practical advice for reference.
