As a leading industry, the automobile industry is an important indicator of a country's level of development. with the in-depth international division of labor, the auto industry Shows a feature of increasing globalization. The world's major auto manufacturers all extend their value chain to the whole world, which forms a global value chain of auto industry. In recent years, as China's continuous opening of auto market and the improvement of GNP, its auto industry developed rapidly, whose scale and economic effects increase steadily. However, we should recognize that the rapid development of China's auto industry is largely a result of the release of the huge accumulated domestic demand. In fact, china's auto industry occupies a low position in the global auto industry value chain, limited in Processing and manufacturing sectors mostly. In order to reach the sound development of China's auto industry, we need to study the present development of China's auto industry, and discuss the auto manufacturers how to get their own development strategies to cope with the threaten brought about by the entry of large enterprises .To China's auto enterprises which grows urgently, establishing strategic alliances is a third way of development in addition to internal expansion and external acquisition.As the main mode of co-competition, strategic alliances, which has been developed rapidly in the past 10 years, becomes a major strategy of many multinational enterprises. Through aligning with enterprises which is benefit for there own development around the world, forming a Cooperation mechanism of sharing-resources,shared-risks and mutual-benefits as well as the effective cooperation, the strategic alliances will create competitive advantage together. Therefore, the study of establishing strategic alliances of china's auto industry in the background of global value chains is a problem worthy of study.This paper uses the method of combining qualitative analysis to quantitative analysis, as well as combining theoretical analysis and model analysis. First, it makes an analysis of benefits distribution of the global value chain. And then discusses the competitive advantages of strategic alliances'enhancing competitiveness of enterprise posed in the global value chain with transaction costs, economics of scale and scope theory and the global value chain theory.
