| Previous studies have showed that alliance trustworthiness is an important factor for strategic alliance.Most studies have focus on alliance stability and alliance performance.There are rare studies to show that alliance trustworthiness has impact on the execution of alliance in strategic action.When the formation of strategic alliance and the intended achievement of strategic goal are reached,alliance action and the resources allocation of strategic alliance are the execution of strategic choice.At the moment,the relationship between alliance trustworthiness and alliance strategic action has not been revealed.Agricultural supply chain is an intermediate between producers and customers.Agricultural supply chain includes growing,procurement,logistics,storage,loading,distribution,food processing,sales and products information.These activities are interlinked and agricultural products are distinguished in nature from industrial products(products varieties,large volume,wide range of logistics,value added activities in agricultural products and high proportion of products wastage).Agricultural supply chain is a professional sector in its nature by determining its infrastructure,storage conditions,goods logistics and special products skill and knowledge.It is the reason that alliance trustworthiness is an important factor affecting transaction efficiency.Strategic alliance means two or above enterprises form a loose organization to achieve the aim of sharing common market and resources in order to achieve mutual business development,risk sharing,key factors complement or multi-information flow.In the strategic alliance research arena,alliance relationship is the focus area and the main form alliance in agricultural supply chain.In compared with the industrial products supply chain,agricultural supply chain has its unique characteristic.Among the supply chain organizations,agricultural supply chain means agricultural products from products growing to food consumption.The middle organization of this area means the linkage between from producers to consumers.Due to the multi-relationship between and the necessity to improve supply chain system,it is necessary to have work hard in all supply chain participants and strengthen competitive advantage.Agricultural supply chain participants will consider its conditions to form different alliance.As a traditional industry,agricultural supply chain participants are frequent use long term relationship to keep it competitiveness.Participants in agricultural supply chain are dominant by small and medium enterprises and they are seeking profit maximization and cost cutting in vicious competition.Many studies in strategic alliance indicate that agricultural and industrial products supply chain alliance is different in its nature of products storage and products rot issue.The timeliness is more important in the agricultural supply chain alliance and the relationship between supply chain alliance is required to have close relationship and quick response to the partners.When the formation of supply chain alliance,the trustworthiness of participants in the agricultural supply chain is an important factor.On the high level of trustworthiness,the operational efficiency of agricultural supply chain will be significant improved.On the other hand,different enterprises will have different relationship with other enterprises.They may adapt different strategic action choice and this choice will be affected by the trustworthiness of supply chain participants.When the establishment of agricultural supply chain alliance,members among trustworthiness helps to shape the strategic alliance and this is the important research theme of agricultural supply chain.At the moment,the research in agricultural supply chain alliance exists the following problems: 1.There are lack of practical research in agricultural supply chain alliance;2.There are lack of mechanism of trustworthiness study in agricultural supply chain alliance on the effect of efficiency and strategic action;3.Rare studies are found in strategic action in agricultural supply chain alliance.For the sake of the improvement of existing research under the China market environment,the study uses alliance theory and intends to address the following three questions: 1.How can agricultural supply chain alliance trustworthiness may affect on agricultural supply chain alliance strategic action;2.How does agricultural supply chain alliance have different dimension of trustworthiness and the relationship of strategic alliance;3.How are the mechanism of alliance trustworthiness of agricultural supply and alliance strategic action.In order to address the above questions,the thesis uses the theory of alliance study and establishes trustworthiness and strategic alliance action.The author distributed 1045 questionnaires and used structural equation model to testify the study.The study answered the process of supply chain alliance formation and under the input of alliance trustworthiness will affect the choice of alliance strategic action.The thesis includes the following chapters: 1.Research background and practical value: research methodology and chapter division;2.Literature review: this chapter includes supply chain management theory,alliance portfolio theory,alliance management theory,alliance trustworthiness theory,alliance strategic action theory and summary of literature review;3.The overall review of agricultural chain and strategic alliance: discussion of agricultural supply and relationship of strategic alliance;4.Research modeling and research assumptions: this chapter formulates research model and defines concepts used in the thesis with the relevant theory argument support;5.Questionnaire samples,data collection and key model index: the chapter discusses data collection,sample testing and key model index;6.Research hypothesis testing: this chapter discusses full scale data collection,descriptive statistics and uses exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis to testify the research model;and 7.Research conclusion and future study: this chapter addresses the research conclusion,limitation and future research suggestion.The study draws the following conclusion: 1.When goodwill trust of agricultural alliance supply chain is positively related to adapting strategy of agricultural alliance strategic action;and competence trust of agricultural alliance supply chain is positively related to shaping strategy of agricultural alliance strategic action.Adapting strategy is to use low cost target and existing resources to encounter existing business environment.While shaping strategy is to use new resources to develop new opportunity,the aim is to explore new resources to develop new business;2.The study proves that alliance trustworthiness has the impact on the choice of strategic action.The design of alliance structure may have impact on the alliance strategic action.While inserting mediated factors such as the design of strategic alliance system,alliance trustworthiness have relationship to alliance strategic action.The theoretical contribution of the study is as follows: 1.This study is based on the theory of strategic alliance and establishes alliance trustworthiness and strategic action choice theoretical framework.The study has fruitful to the theory of strategic alliance.Previous studies did not show the relationship between alliance trustworthiness and alliance strategic action clearly.The study shows that alliance trustworthiness and alliance strategic action have typology effect-alliance trust and strategic action typology.When alliance has input goodwill trust,relevant strategy is adapting strategic action.When alliance has input competence trust,strategy is shaping strategic action;2.The study revealed that meditation effect of agricultural supply chain in alliance management theory on organization design of alliance development and the strategic direction will be effected by the design of alliance organization design;3.This study further supports that agricultural supply chain alliance in special form existence.The alliance exists for the increase its competitive advantage and the alliance is using adapting strategic action and shaping strategic action;4.This study provides practical meaning to this area.The study makes both practical and theory contribution to the “three agriculture” and vegetable basket program area as well as the agricultural supply chain theory of development. |
