The endowment insurance system of the government public institutions is an important component of the whole social security system. Despite the positive role it had played in the maintenance of a tolerable life for the retired, in the development and stability of the whole society, the endowment insurance system, resulted from the past plan economy, fails to catch up with the rapid development of the current socialist market economy. Consequently an immediate reformation which aims at a standard unified endowment insurance system is needed.The lagging of the endowment insurance system of the government public institutions, has restricted the forming of a nationwide unified labor market as well as the development and completion of the whole social security system. It has also burdened the national finance and hindered the construction of the socialist harmonious society. The thesis aims at, through analyzing the necessity of the government public institutions endowment insurance system reformation, improving the understanding of the social importance and impendency of the reformation itself.Based on the theories of social insurance and social work as well as data gathered from related government statistics and previous research findings, the thesis puts forward some positive advice and measures concerning the government public institutions endowment insurance system reformation. It also gives a clear picture of the current the government public institutions endowment insurance system, especially its problems and causes. The thesis emphasizes the actual significance of the government public institutions endowment insurance system reformation and its effects on the building of a harmonious society.
