Although the human resource management is still at its primary stage in most domestic enterprises, more and. more importance is attached to it, as one of the most important modules of human resource management, performance management is put on to the agenda by many domestic entrepreneurs, lots of excellent theories and tools about performance management from outside the boarders are employed in our country. But when a enterprise is building its own performance management system, it has to ensure that the system bases on the latest theories, and has all the necessary parts of a structure, what's more, it has to assure that the system complies with the strategy of the enterprises, and adapts to its own development. This essay is trying to study how to design a performance management system with the consideration of performance management theories, specialties of the enterprise and the enterprise development strategy.This essay was divided into four parts. The first part mainly gave an introduction of the generally accepted theories about performance, performance assessment, performance management and performance management procedures.
