The New Development Of Industrial Clusters And Its Enlightenment In The Information Economy Age

Study on a kind of industrial organizations—industrial clusters which developed vigorously during west industrial economy epoch, could be traced back to Adam·Smith. Since Marshall gave a systemic research on it in 1890, many economists such as Weber,Schumpeter,Krugman,Michael·Peter and so on began to make their own contribution in this field. With the industrial clusters rising in China during the past more than 10 years, more and more Chinese scholars also started to pay attention to this industrial organization.The external-economy effect of industrial clusters should be attributed to geographic centralization which is one of the most remarkable characteristics of this organization. However, one coin has its two sides, which also apply to industrial clusters. On one hand, the development of industrial clusters promoted the growing of the region economy, on the other hand, it will cause increasing regional disparity instead of decreasing ones.How do we look upon the above question and solve it, especially under the condition that regional disparity is expanding ceaselessly in our country, how do we try to avail ourselves of industrial clusters and make the existing regional disparity not expand further in the meantime is a question on which worth us pondering.The Information Economy provides us with modern information technology whose carrier is internet. Many span-new industrial organizations emerged one after the other, such as industrial convergence and virtual enterprises, which produced important influence on the industrial clusters in traditional industrial epoch. Industrial clusters could avail network instead of geographic adjacence, transcend geographic restrict and extend geographically. It is this new development of industrial cluster which offer us a completely new idea to solve the above problem.This paper reconsider the traditional industrial cluster in the background of Information Economy epoch, so as to solve the problem of over-growing regional disparity in our country. On the basis of thoroughly analyzing how industrial clusters come into being and change, we are trying to probe into a new way which enable us to avail ourselves of the characteristic of spacial extending of this organization to solve the problem of regional disparity. The paper not only analyze it in theory and practice, but also work out a new realizing means which is quite practicable.
