Modern enterprises are facing the complicated and changeable business situation and the supernormal development of the enterprise scale. The strategy refers to the overall and long-term plan for the future all-round development of an enterprise, which, in order to enhance the enterprise the competitive ability, is based on the thorough analysis and accurate judgment of the external environment and internal condition of the enterprise. Electric power industry is a pillar industry of the national economy.The management outcomes of generated enterpises not only rely on their own management level, but also correlated with external environment. At today that the interaction between the power system and the coal system reform,the influence against generated enterprises by external environment will increasingly deepen. The article analyses the facts of electric power industry, especially thermal generated industry, especially the Hubei Xiangfan Generation Electricity Co., Ltd (XFGEC),and mainly discusses the key factors involving in the national economy, political, legal and technical environment.It concluded that we should carried out strategic research and formulating development strategies in order to find out new growth point of profit when we faced the environment of current electric power market demand rapid growth and the increasingly fierce competition.With the help of the enterprise strategy management theory and the management experience from the domestic and foreign enterprises, this article, which is based on the analysis of several elementary theories concerning the enterprise strategy management, applies the research technique combining the standard analysis and the real diagnosis analysis to the research of XFGEC's developmental strategy, and make it clear what are the company's pressure and challenge, and introduced the present development of thermal generation enterprise. As the basis of research, it reviewed the problems concerning enterprise strategy related to the management theory. To analyze the status clearly, and based on the macroscopic and microcosmic factor of. detailed analysis, it get the development opportunities in thermal generation enterprise. Then in the industry development on the basis of comparison, on the analysis of the initiatives of XFGEC in Central China power market developments in the process of the advantages and disadvantage, and opportunities and challenges. In order to solve the problems during development, and grasp the market potential for generating business opportunities through the horizontal analysis and experience, implement the development strategy for the XFGEC at last.
