Abstract/Summary:
In engineering project management, schedule management is one of the three management objectives including quality management, cost management and schedule management, and is the key success factor in implementing a project. But from the stand point of practical application in small and medium-sized construction businesses, the application of specialized project schedule tools and methods is not optimistic. How to improve schedule management level is a problem that call for immediate solution. As for the schedule management of the second phase of Ju Cheng Shi Jia project, Tian Cheng construction corporation has some problems as follows: its awareness on schedule management is feeble, the schedule management method is outdated, and the system is not perfect. These problems have bought enormous influence to the project success. In view of this, Tian Cheng construction corporation hopes to adopt scientific project management methods, draw up logical construction schedules and work out effective controlling measures in order to ensure the project success. So It's of great significance to carry on research on this project's schedule management. This article first introduces related theory of schedule management, then analyzes problems which existed in the project schedule management and various factors which affected the project based on Ju Cheng Shi Jia project. In this foundation, we use network planning technique to draft the project's schedule so as to lay a solid foundation for project success. Finally, according to theory of schedule control, this article applies joint control method of cost and schedule-Earned Value Method to evaluate the project's performance on the expense achievement and Progress achievement. Thus it realizes dynamic controlling of the project schedule. This article establishes a systemic and practical process for engineering project planning and controlling. It serves as a great reference for similar construction projects management.
