U.S.-ASEAN Business Council: Origin And Function

This paper represents a study about the US-ASEAN Business Council which is the most important organization of the U.S.A in Southeast Asia. Based on analysis and method of induction, the paper tries to locate the important role the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council plays and influences it brings, and then finds out how it exerts their effortsThe study of U.S.-ASEAN Business Council can be attached very important meanings both in academy and reality. The Council is the only U.S. organization to be given the privilege to raise member company concerns. It is also the only organization that is allowed to attend the ASEAN's annual financial meeting and its regional forum. In a word, it is the umbrella of the US enterprises in the ASEAN. The council has big effects on ASEAN's political and economic development and also plays a role of impeller among the expansion of U.S.-ASEAN business relationships and at the same time a supporter for the ASEAN's integration. The council also gives advices, capital and technology support to ASEAN in several fields such as the construction of single market, single window and infrastructure constructing.This paper pays more attention to the considerable influences which the US-ASEAN Business Council exerts on promoting American enterprises in Southeast Asia, enhancing the U.S.-ASEAN economic and trade interests and improving the relations between the U.S. and the ASEAN. Furthermore, it also tries to find out how the US-ASEAN Business Council to do for achieving its goals and objectives.
