In the increasingly fierce market competition, the customer demands are becoming more and more important, and leaders of many industries have begun to provide customized services. Engineer to order (called ETO), a kind of production mode, which could offer customized products based on the redesign of parts or the variant product design and type configuration according to customization needs in the customer orders.Electrical products are typical products of ETO-type and this industry has prominent technical characteristics, so many companies adopt such ETO mode. However, complicated customized process and strict demands to engineers has compelled the enterprises to seek more effective product design method for ETO design. Under such circumstance, the research on the integration techniques of ETO becomes the key solution to these problems. This integration technology could provide knowledge preparation before the design, agile use of design methods and support design process. It can realize rapid design as to provide customized service.In order to apply product design integration technology in the enterprise, the author takes knowledge management, ETO design method and design support theory as theoretical basis, uses development tools of ASP.NET and database of SQL Server as technical basis, to research and develop ETO product design system of electric industry. The system brings about the customized design requirement for electric, enterprises.The main contents of the paper include following items:1. Research on knowledge management theory in ETO and analyze the methods of knowledge acquirement, expression and application in ETO. Bring out product diversity space and data management model. Solve the problems of dynamic evolution of standard schemes and reasoning of nonstandard design.2. Based on data support, analyze the integration data stream model and module design and product design strategy. According to practical situation, put forward and analyze two methods:demand oriented product design and function deconstruction of BOM.3. Discuss the thoughts of order management, quoted price management and cooperation design in the view of design support. It focuses on the customs demand management, status tracing of orders, schedule management, quoted price of variety costs. The author also discusses the cooperation design between enterprises and customs.4. Research on the function, development platform, data structure, software structure, implementation methods, the functions and integrants of its subsystems for ETO product design system in electric industry. Good application results are acquired by some electric enterprise in Wuhan, which prove the feasibility of ETO design theory.The author researches on the integration techniques focusing on ETO products and realizes the application of such techniques by using software. Good application effects are acquired.
