Along with social development and industrial division, those electronic companies in possession of own brand only keep core technology and the electronic manufacturing service companies will be responsible for more and more product development and mass production. The brand companies are all striving to design all kinds of products to meet the customers'demand so that they can meet the challenges in this drastic marketing economic world. They ask the manufacturing companies to meet customers'demand and market changes with the fastest speed. And the manufacturing companies must self- examining and self-improving themselves all the time to gain competitive advantage.ODM, as one of the manufacturing service companies, is responsible for manufacturing and designing. They must design the product as customer requested and put it into market as soon as possible after getting customer's notice. However, the product may not be able to appear in the market as they expected because there is a new product introduction (NPI) phase. The final output of NPI is a new product's mass production under certain quality criteria, which is a bridge between design and mass production and make the design realized. Without new products'successful introduction, there will be no mass production. So it is most important for whatever companies. However, there are numerous problems for new product introduction in many companies. Program management, as one kind of methods to integrate the company's internal and external resources and rapid feedback to customer's demand, is a must for the new products'introduction, and it is more necessity for optimizing the NPI process.Although it is not the first time to optimize the NPI process in the industry, it is very rare that they can implement successfully and summarize the experience for other companies to learn. The purpose of this thesis is to put forward a method for improving by the experience of NPI process optimizing in Honhai company and hope it can give some light to other companies.This thesis will adopt the way of researching the living example. Base on the problem of NPI in Honhai companies, we analyzed the root cause of the problem and come up with the solution from ODM point of view, and we implemented the program of NPI process optimizing. After the program's implementation, the NPI process took on a new look and the company system becomes more perfect.The thesis can be summarized as five parts. The first part discussed the background and significance, and raised the content of the thesis. The second part is the introduction about the new product introduction based on program management and told the problems of new product introduction in Honhai company, which is ODM model. The third part provided the solution to the problems which is put forwarded in second part and implemented the program of optimizing of NPI process. The fourth part is the evaluation on the program. And the last part is the conclusion. |
